KEON GOES TO PRISON

My boy Sullivan contributed one of his best pieces a couple months ago on the topic of Keon Clark's legal woes. Well... he just got sentenced, and he's going to prison.
URBANA – Former NBA player Keon Clark was sentenced to prison today on a felony charge of driving on a suspended license.
Clark did not show up for the sentencing hearing. Champaign County Judge Richard Klaus sentenced him in absentia to 30 months in prison and issued a warrant for his arrest.
"Putting Mr. Clark on probation would be a complete and utter waste of resources," Klaus said. "Mr. Clark is a danger to the community, especially if he continues to drive."
That's right, Keon Clark didn't show up to his own sentencing. His lawyer covered him, though....
Urbana attorney James Dedman, who represents Keon Clark, did not present any evidence, but asked the judge to defer his decision on a sentence until Clark could be evaluated by a psychiatrist.
"His record and his behavior suggests he has a serious mental problem," Dedman said. "It's possible he's unfit to stand trial or be sentenced, or that he's insane."
Klaus declined to order a psychiatric evaluation or defer sentencing, saying it was the first time the issue of Clark's mental state had been raised and telling Dedman he could file a motion later on the matter.
Well, if firing your agents and hiring some random friend right before you hit the free agent market, behaving erratically, habitually breaking the law, and riding a scooter when you're a 6'10" multimillionaire isn't enough to qualify you as "insane" in this country, I don't know what will. The scooter alone is enough proof for me.
However, if you think serving three years in prison will be the end of it, you obviously haven't read the whole article.
Clark is scheduled to be in court again next week for a pretrial hearing on a misdemeanor criminal trespass charge and a felony driving under the influence of alcohol charge. He is scheduled to be sentenced in Vermilion County on Oct. 10 on a felony drug charge, a DUI, and not having a firearm owner's identification card.
He was to be tried this week in Vermilion County on charges of not having a firearm owner's identification card, making a false report, two charges of driving on a suspended license, and criminal damage to property. Those cases were continued to Oct. 10.
Clark also has a pending felony charge of driving on a suspended license in July in Vermilion County.
No wonder he's on the run! The BAD crimes he's on trial for are yet to be sentenced! He'd better soup up his scooter so it will travel 100mph and hope they don't recognize him at the border!

I loved Keon when he was with the Nuggets. Too bad he is now a wanted man.
Yeah, he wasn't a bad player at all. If you're that talented, all you have to do is NOT go insane and you've got a pretty good career. You just have to stay in the league. Look at the Kandi Man!
Keon Clark lives life like Doc Rivers coaches basketball.
When he was at UNLV he alternated between a scooter and a skateboard. Weed has always been an issue. When people say marijuana isn't addictive they must not know about Keon Clark, Ricky Williams or Onterrio Smith. This guy has as much athletic ability as KG but where KG is focused on basketball Keon is focused on getting high.
Keon Clark focuses on marijuana like Celticsblog focuses on sucking
Those anti-drug ads should just be a shot of Keon Clarke riding a scooter through the desert, wearing a worn-out Nuggets jersey, getting chased by the cops. Then it would say, "Keon Clarke. My anti-drug."
this guy's pissed

Driving with a suspended license is a felony? You get 30 MONTHS in jail for that? Paris Hilton and Lindsey Lohan have, what? 5 combined DUI's and have served.............23 days, maybe?
Keon Clark has as much athletic ability as KG? This is like me saying that Dan Dickau had the same athletic skills as John Stockton.
So, but for the fact that Keon could never dribble, pass or shoot, gain any muscle on his upper body, or demonstrate much hand-eye coordination in any part of the game other than blocked shots, yes, he had the exact same athletic ability as KG.
that man aint crazy .... he is just goin through a thang.... dissin on his ability to play ball and him riding a scooter.... damn g ... cant the man have fun and ride a scooter... bein rich or not he should still be able to do his thang.... kc is a great ball player.. he did make sum mistakes but he is dealin wit them now.. im sure if he could go back and change things he would...
"keon Clark" the anti-drug... cum on.. you gotta do betta than that... what you really know bout that man? do you know him personally???? if not then why you talkin out the side of yo neck bout him and his "drug problem".. it is well known that kc has a drug problem but yall need to stop talkin so reckless bout him, when you only know what you read and you dont know him personally....

Keon my be lost but he is not a lost cause.
Annonymous....
You may have spent two years "wit dat man", but unfortunately, kc is an EXTREMELY immature 'man'. He is a 'man' in physicality only...he is blown by the winds and whims of whoever he is around, which is most definitely NOT being a 'man'. kc needs to be his OWN 'man' and stop trying to please every negatively influencing person in his life.
Take note that kc's best years personally and on the court were when he was with S and T, NOT the inexperienced (that's putting it mildly) high school friend he turned his career over to who promptly landed him in freakin' Canada. kc thought since this guy had "two jet-ski's he must be "the man". Maybe that qualifies as 'the man' in Danville, IL, but not in the world of multi-million dollar contract negotiations in the NBA.
Don't think for one second that it was blind luck that S and T worked the draft day deal that landed kc in Denver, where S lives, and who worked his A$$ off for kc, only to be turned away by kc for a hometown Bozo Clown just before kc's big pay day (and when S would have been finally compensated appropriately for everything he'd done for kc).
It's not an accident that kc's life went in the crapper almost immediately after that and has continued to slide further into the abyss.
kc is a good person who has made some monumentally stupid decisions that were influenced in a big way by "hangers on" out for a ride on the kc train. Unfortunately for kc, the one who's had to pay the biggest price is kc himself.
